Since 1990s international financial institutions enhanced their lending and leverage India. To create attention on the emerging dynamics and following two years of research published in 1995 a major study on Foreign Funding in Andhra Pradesh. It was the first of its kind state level study.

In 1997 Andhra Pradesh was chosen as the first state in India to implement a comprehensive state-level Structural Reforms with assistance from the World Bank. CEC actively campaigned and took up research and advocacy on key dimensions and potential dynamics of the reforms. CEC works closely with organizations and activists focusing on human rights, gender, farmers, trade unions, professionals and NGOs in this regard. It has recently updated its “Foreign funding in AP” study.
